[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-yoon] Seoul City announced that from 0:00 to 21:00 on the 27th, a total of 672 new COVID-19 cases were tentatively counted in Seoul, including 4 imported cases.


This number is close to the highest ever Monday full-day (24 hours) record of 676 cases, which was the final tally from a week ago on the 20th, with a difference of only 4 cases.


Compared to the tentative count for the same time period, it is 167 cases fewer than the previous day’s 839 cases, and 19 cases fewer than last Monday (the 20th), which had 653 cases.


The daily new cases in Seoul recorded 906 on the 23rd, the day after the Chuseok holiday, and sharply increased to 1,222 on the 24th, setting a new record since the domestic outbreak of COVID-19. On the 25th, 928 cases were reported, exceeding 900 cases for three consecutive days immediately after the holiday.


As of 21:00 on the 27th, the cumulative number of COVID-19 cases in Seoul was tentatively counted at 98,327. The total number of confirmed cases for the day will be finalized as of 0:00 on the 28th and announced in the afternoon.
