[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kang Sharon] Gyeongnam Province announced on the 27th that 66 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 occurred in the province after 5 p.m. on the 26th.
By region, there were 25 cases in Gimhae, 22 in Changwon, 6 in Geoje, 4 each in Jinju, Yangsan, and Changnyeong, and 1 in Sacheon.
Except for one confirmed case in Gimhae who entered from overseas, all cases are locally transmitted.
Among them, 7 confirmed cases in Gimhae, 1 in Changwon, and 1 in Changnyeong are related to a foreign restaurant in Gimhae.
Many of the confirmed cases are foreigners of Vietnamese nationality; 3 are restaurant users and 6 are contacts.
The cumulative number of confirmed cases related to the Gimhae foreign restaurant has increased to 63.
Among all confirmed cases, 27 had contact with confirmed cases within the province, including family, acquaintances, and coworkers.
Fifteen were infected through contact with confirmed cases from other regions such as the Seoul metropolitan area and Daegu.
Fourteen cases are currently under investigation for their infection routes.
Among those infected through contact with existing confirmed cases or under investigation for infection routes, many are foreigners of Vietnamese, Myanmar, Nepalese, and Uzbek nationalities, prompting epidemiological investigations by health authorities.
The cumulative number of confirmed cases in the province has risen to 11,254 (511 hospitalized, 10,710 discharged, 33 deceased).
