[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-yoon] The High-ranking Officials' Crime Investigation Unit (PCC) has reported its first confirmed case of COVID-19.
According to the PCC and the Gwacheon Government Complex Management Office of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety on the 27th, one PCC employee working in Building 5 of the complex tested positive for COVID-19 in the afternoon. This is the first confirmed case since the PCC was launched on January 21 of this year.
The management office urgently disinfected all PCC offices and common areas. About 10 employees working in the same department underwent specimen testing and were instructed to stay at home. It is reported that all of them tested negative.
The confirmed employee is an investigator from the investigation division dispatched from the police, who came to the office on the 23rd and 24th of this month. After his spouse tested positive the day before, he took a test and was confirmed positive on the same day.
