National Support Fund Disbursement Rate 90%, Total 7.2505 Billion KRW Distributed
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Sancheong-gun, Gyeongnam Province announced on the 27th that the payment rate of the 'COVID-19 Coexistence National Support Fund' in the region has exceeded 90% (as of the 26th).
According to the county, as of the 26th, a total of 7.2505 billion KRW was paid to 29,002 people, which is 90% of the total eligible recipients.
By payment method, 55% of the total received the fund via credit/debit cards, 2% via Sancheong Love Gift Certificates (mobile), and 43% via prepaid cards.
The number of eligible recipients for the support fund in Sancheong-gun is 32,486, which is about 94% of the population.
Sancheong-gun made efforts to secure the budget early for prompt support. As a result, most of the national support funds were paid before Chuseok, allowing local residents to use them smoothly.
In particular, it is analyzed that this greatly helped revitalize local commercial districts such as traditional markets, which had been depressed due to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
The national support fund can be applied for until October 29. Eligible individuals receive 250,000 KRW per person. It can be used anywhere at Sancheong Love Gift Certificate affiliated stores within the region, and if not used by December 31, it will automatically expire.
A county official said, “We will actively promote not only the application for the national support fund but also its use so that local residents can use it effectively,” and added, “We ask everyone to strictly follow quarantine rules to prevent the spread of COVID-19.”
