Confirmed Cases Surge Across Gyeongnam ... 39 New Cases Reported as of 1:30 PM

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] As of 1:30 PM on the 27th, Gyeongsangnam-do reported 39 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the province since 5 PM the previous day.

By region, there were 13 cases in Gimhae-si, 11 in Changwon-si, 6 in Geoje-si, 4 in Yangsan-si, 4 in Changnyeong-gun, and 1 in Sacheon-si.

By infection route, 18 cases were contacts of confirmed patients within the province, 8 were related to a foreign restaurant in Gimhae, 5 were contacts of confirmed patients from other regions, 4 were related to the Seoul metropolitan area, and 4 are under investigation.

Among the confirmed cases, 6 in Gimhae, 1 in Changwon, and 1 in Changnyeong are related to the foreign restaurant in Gimhae.

The remaining 7 confirmed cases in Gimhae were contacts of confirmed patients within the province: 4 were workplace colleagues, 2 acquaintances, and 1 family member.

Of the remaining 10 confirmed cases in Changwon, 4 were contacts of confirmed patients from Daegu, 3 were family members of confirmed patients within the province, and 3 were confirmed positive after testing due to symptom onset; their infection routes are currently under investigation.

Among the remaining 3 confirmed cases in Changnyeong, 2 were acquaintances of confirmed patients within the province, and 1 was a contact of a confirmed patient from Daegu.

Of the 6 confirmed cases in Geoje, 3 were family members of confirmed patients within the province, and the other 3 were family members of confirmed patients from the Seoul metropolitan area.

Accordingly, the total cumulative number of confirmed cases in the province has increased to 11,227 (512 hospitalized, 10,682 discharged, 33 deceased).
