Wanju-gun Surpasses 90% in Distributing 'COVID-19 Coexistence National Support Fund'

[Wanju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Han-ho] Wanju County announced on the 27th that the payment rate of the COVID-19 Coexistence National Support Fund has surpassed 90%.

Starting from the 6th of this month, online applications for credit card and check card points began, and from the 13th, offline applications for the 'COVID-19 Coexistence National Support Fund' were accepted through the administrative welfare centers in the jurisdiction of the applicant's address. As a result, 91.8% of the eligible recipients (84,321 people) applied and payments were completed.

The total amount paid was calculated to be 19.361 billion KRW, with 250,000 KRW per person.

Regarding the application methods, applying through card companies to charge credit or check cards accounted for 60.2% of the total, the highest proportion, while offline applications receiving prepaid cards through local government applications accounted for 31.6%.

Wanju County expects that this payment rate will help increase sales for local small business owners who have been struggling due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.

Since the application deadline for the National Support Fund is set for October 29, Wanju County plans to take proactive measures such as actively promoting 'visiting applications' targeting vulnerable groups so that all eligible recipients can receive support as soon as possible.

Additionally, they intend to continuously promote the application and use of the National Support Fund.

Meanwhile, the COVID-19 Coexistence National Support Fund can be used at local love gift certificate affiliated stores registered as places where the fund can be used.

To revitalize the local economy and support small business owners struggling due to COVID-19, the restrictions on industries where the National Support Fund can be used have been minimized, and applications for National Support Fund affiliated stores are continuously being accepted to expand usage locations.
