"Will Block Installation of Structures on Dokdo," Warns Japanese Prime Minister Candidate; Seogyeongdeok Says "Watch Your Words" Sanae Takaichi, Former Japanese Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications / Photo by Professor Seokyeong Deok Facebook Capture

[Asia Economy Reporter Yoon Seul-gi] Professor Seo Kyung-duk of Sungshin Women's University sharply criticized Sanae Takaichi, former Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications and candidate for the Liberal Democratic Party leadership election to select the next Japanese Prime Minister, for saying "South Korea will be prevented from building more structures on Dokdo," telling her to "watch your words."

On the morning of the 27th, Professor Seo posted on his Facebook, saying, "Former Minister Sanae Takaichi has made another outrageous remark."

Professor Seo said, "On the 26th, Yomiuri Shimbun reported that former Minister Takaichi said during an online meeting with the Hyogo Prefectural Assembly that 'South Korea will be prevented from building more structures on Dokdo.' However, the Japanese government has no way to stop South Korea from installing additional structures on Dokdo, which it currently effectively controls," he said.

He continued, "Even if the intention is to rally far-right supporters, saying that you will do something about another country's territory is extremely rude and disrespectful," he criticized.

Then Professor Seo said, "If this person becomes the next Japanese Prime Minister, I thought she should first rush to Dokdo and try to install a structure. It would be very meaningful to show the world that no matter how much she struggles, the Japanese Prime Minister cannot stop it," he said.

Finally, Professor Seo warned, "Former Minister Takaichi, watch your mouth. It could bring great trouble later."

Meanwhile, former Minister Takaichi has continuously visited Yasukuni Shrine, where Class A war criminals of the Pacific War are enshrined, every year on the Pacific War end day and during the spring and autumn festivals, and has stated that she will continue to visit the shrine even after becoming Prime Minister.
