[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Seohyun] Amid revelations that the son of Gwak Sang-do, a member of the People Power Party, received a retirement payment of 5 billion won from Hwacheon Daeyu, former Dongyang University professor Jin Joong-kwon claimed, "What exactly did Gwak Sang-do do for them? This dark connection. Lee Jae-myung and Yoo Dong-gyu must know the secret."

On the 26th, Jin posted on his Facebook, "Why did Seongnam City pour such a large amount of money into a company called Hwacheon Daeyu? Where is that money now?" He also emphasized the need for a special prosecutor to uncover the truth.

He stated, "If the 5 billion won is a 'bribe,' it must be the 'price' for something. In other words, the Gwak Sang-do side must have done something for Hwacheon Daeyu," adding, "This implies that Mayor Lee Jae-myung's Daejang-dong project was not a legitimate business from the start. If it were a legitimate business, there would be no need to offer a 'bribe'."

He continued, "In short, there is something illegal about the project itself, meaning that people from the Park Geun-hye administration played a role in making that suspicious project happen," and pointed out, "Or it could be a request to turn a blind eye to this large-scale fraud that happened in broad daylight."

He further explained, "Anyway, the money used as a bribe was created using the absurdly designed 'Lee Jae-myung?Yoo Dong-gyu model.' Ultimately, this suggests there was some collusion between the Seongnam local government and people from the previous administration's Blue House to push through the suspicious project or to cover up the corruption," adding, "About 200 million won could be seen as just insurance, but 5 billion won is different. This indicates a significant role was played and this should be seen as the price for that."

Former professor Jin also argued, "The Lee Jae-myung side seems to be trying to frame this as the 'Gwak Sang-do bribe case,' but it won't be easy. Logically, it's self-conceited," and claimed, "The exchange of bribes means the project itself is criminal."

He added, "Who designed that criminal project? For reference, candidate Lee Jae-myung has stated that he designed the project himself," and sarcastically remarked, "What kind of country will Lee Jae-myung create? If you want to know, look at Daejang-dong. After making the whole country like that, he boasted it as 'the greatest achievement since Dangun.'"
