[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] The Korea Rail Network Authority announced on the 25th that it has recently secured and signed a contract for the "Mongolia Tavan Tolgoi~Zuunbayan Signaling and Communication System Construction Project" commissioned by the Mongolian Railway Corporation.

This project primarily involves the construction of a single-track railway (total length 415 km) for coal transportation from the Tavan Tolgoi mine, with a project cost of approximately 42.5 billion KRW.

The Rail Network Authority will jointly undertake tasks such as the design, construction, and commissioning of the railway signaling and communication system with Beksan Power Co., Ltd. in this project.

Previously, the Rail Network Authority achieved success by winning the project and signing the contract through competition with advanced railway countries such as Germany, China, and Russia.

Above all, the Rail Network Authority expects that this project will increase opportunities for Korean companies to further enter additional railway projects commissioned locally in Mongolia in the future.

Kim Han-young, Director of the Rail Network Authority, stated, “The Rail Network Authority will continue to do its best to serve as a ‘platform’ to enable many domestic companies to enter overseas railway markets based on cooperation with private companies.”
