[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] Taking advantage of his attendance at the UN General Assembly, President Moon Jae-in appeared jointly with BTS (Bangtan Sonyeondan) on a US broadcast program, mimicking dance moves and delivering messages about climate change and other issues.

On the morning of the 24th (local time), during an interview on the US ABC network's "Good Morning America," President Moon referred to BTS's song "Permission to Dance," stating, "It conveyed a message of integration beyond differences to people around the world."

President Moon demonstrated a dance move where he extended his thumbs while slightly bending the other fingers, moving both hands up and down as if scratching his upper body, and asked the BTS members, "Is this something like this?" This is one of the choreography moves featured in BTS's "Permission to Dance" performance, utilizing international sign language for "joy."

BTS, appointed as Special Presidential Envoys for Future Generations and Culture, attended the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Moment event held at the UN Headquarters in New York on the 20th, where they delivered a speech and unveiled the "Permission to Dance" video.

President Moon said, "Since BTS resonates widely with the youth, I believe they can spread awareness and empathy among young people regarding these issues (SDGs). This is much more effective than the hundreds of times the UN Secretary-General or I speak about it."

This interview was recorded on the 21st during President Moon's visit to New York.
