Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 25th through a COVID-19 written briefing that the new confirmed cases were classified as numbers 4804 to 4833.
Among them, 9 foreign nationals confirmed positive at the screening clinic set up in Gwangsan-gu were identified as 4826, 4831, 4833, and others.
Most of these individuals are known to have worked as daily laborers, in restaurants, or on farms.
Seven confirmed cases related to other cities and provinces, including Songpa-gu in Seoul and Namyangju-si in Gyeonggi-do, were identified. This is analyzed to be influenced by the movement of the metropolitan population to non-metropolitan areas during the Chuseok holiday period.
Five people were infected through contact with existing confirmed cases, and two people, numbered 4810 and 4811, were related to case number 4551, who was confirmed positive on the 16th after visiting a cafe in Gwangju.
Two additional cases, 4805 and 4818, were confirmed at an entertainment facility located in Seo-gu, where case number 4732 was first confirmed on the 22nd.
The infection routes of seven people, numbered 4904, 4812, 4821, 4823, 4827, 4828, and 4832, are currently under investigation.
