[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Generating electricity using waste, increasing local government revenue by selling bus stop names...

These are immediate noticeable achievements made by Ulsan city officials through their 'proactive administration.'

These remarkable results are competing with each other and being recorded as exemplary cases of good administration.

On the 17th, Ulsan City held the '4th Proactive Administration Committee' and announced on the 25th that it had judged 12 cases that advanced to the finals of the '2021 Second Half Ulsan City Proactive Administration Best Practice Competition' and finally selected 9 outstanding cases.

The 9 selected cases include 6 in the local government sector and 3 in the local public enterprise sector.

In the local government sector, the case of the Energy Management Division titled "Nationwide First! Converting Waste Resources into Hydrogen and Clean Electricity through Plasma Technology!" took first place.

Also selected were ▲ the Industrial Site Division's "Untangling the Complex Industrial Complex Sales Knot! The officials who 'submitted' the 9 outstanding proactive administration cases will receive generous awards. They will also receive preferential treatment in personnel matters such as the Ulsan Mayor's Award, special promotions granted by their affiliated institutions, and the highest grade in performance-based pay.

Among these, the top 7 cases will advance to the finals of the 'Central Proactive Administration Best Practice Competition,' jointly hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, the Ministry of Personnel Management, and the Office for Government Policy Coordination.

An official from Ulsan City said, "The case that ranked first in Ulsan in the first half of the year placed ninth in the national competition," adding, "We expect that the strictly selected second half proactive administration best cases will also achieve good results in the central competition."

The 'Proactive Administration Committee,' newly established to spread the culture of proactive administration in Ulsan's public service community, consists of 16 ex officio members and 26 civilian members from various specialized fields.
