Audi Strengthens SUV and Electric Vehicle Lineup, Gains Popularity in High-Performance Car Market The New Audi SQ5 TFSI

[Asia Economy Reporter Changhwan Lee] Audi is drawing industry attention by strengthening its diverse model lineup, including SUVs (Sports Utility Vehicles) and electric vehicles, in response to the growing demand for high-performance models in the Korean automobile market.

According to the industry on the 24th, Audi has launched more than 14 new models since February this year, starting with the R8 V10 Performance. Sales reached a total of 14,711 units from January to August, ranking third among all imported car brands.

In the second half of this year, Audi is consecutively releasing various SUV models, including the expansion of the Q5 lineup with the SQ5 and Q5 Sportback, as well as the pure electric e-tron Sportback.

The ‘The New Audi SQ5 TFSI,’ launched in July, is a representative new SUV model. This vehicle is a high-performance model based on Audi’s flagship SUV, the Q5, combining the practicality and comfort of an SUV’s spaciousness with the appeal of a sports car.

The New Audi SQ5 TFSI is equipped with a 3.0L V6 gasoline direct injection turbocharger (TFSI) engine and an 8-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission, delivering powerful driving performance with a maximum output of 354 horsepower and a peak torque of 50.99 kg.m.

The expansion of the electric vehicle lineup is also progressing rapidly. In May, the company launched the ‘Audi e-tron 50 Quattro’ and the ‘Audi e-tron Sportback 50 Quattro.’

Both models offer dynamic driving with a maximum output of 313 horsepower, peak torque of 55.1 kg.m, and a top speed of 190 km/h (speed limited for safety). They are equipped with a 71 kWh lithium-ion battery, enabling driving ranges of 210 km and 220 km respectively on a single charge based on combined standards.

On the 2nd of this month, the ‘Audi e-tron 55 Sportback’ was released. The ‘Audi e-tron Sportback 55 Quattro’ is equipped with two powerful electric motors mounted at the front and rear of the vehicle respectively.
