[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Seohyun] Amid reports of side effects involving cerebral hemorrhage following COVID-19 vaccination, a national petition has been posted stating that a woman who received the second dose of the Pfizer vaccine suffered a cerebral hemorrhage and eventually fell into a brain death state.

On the 23rd, a post titled "Cerebral Hemorrhage After Pfizer Second Dose on August 5" was uploaded on the Blue House National Petition Board. The petitioner wrote, "My cousin sister experienced a cerebral hemorrhage on September 14 after receiving the second dose of the Pfizer vaccine on August 5."

According to the petitioner, her cousin sister, Ms. A, came home after work on the 14th and complained of sudden neck stiffness and headache. At that time, Ms. A vomited several times but thought it was just indigestion and rested.

However, Ms. A soon collapsed in the bathroom at home. Her husband immediately called 119 (emergency services), and upon arrival at the hospital, Ms. A underwent emergency surgery.

The petitioner said, "A brain CT scan showed that there had been two hemorrhages before going to the hospital and one at the hospital. On the third day, the brain CT showed that the doctor said her brain resembled that of a brain-dead patient," adding, "The brain swelling was very severe. To reduce the intracranial pressure, they would have to perform a craniectomy, but if they do, she might die immediately."

She continued, "Unlike a normal brain image, my sister’s brain CT images were as dark as our hearts. She can breathe on her own now, but they say her breathing will stop within a few days. We have to decide whether to continue life support with a ventilator."

Meanwhile, it was reported that another woman was admitted to the intensive care unit due to cerebral hemorrhage five days after receiving the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine. The petitioner who posted under the title "My younger sister in her 20s is in the ICU due to cerebral hemorrhage five days after the first Pfizer dose" repeatedly emphasized that her sister’s cerebral hemorrhage was clearly caused by the vaccine.

The petitioner’s younger sister, 28-year-old Ms. B, received the first Pfizer dose on the 9th and on the 13th at around 6 a.m., she complained of severe headache and vomiting and was transported to the emergency room around 7 a.m. After a CT scan, Ms. B was diagnosed with cerebral hemorrhage and was transferred to another hospital with an ICU, but due to a lack of operating rooms, surgery was delayed for about 12 hours and was performed only at 8 p.m.

The attending physician diagnosed, "It appears to be cerebral hemorrhage caused by cerebral arteriovenous malformation and is unrelated to the vaccine." However, the petitioner claimed, "My sister has been healthy without any major illness for 28 years, and recent health checkups showed normal blood pressure and cardiovascular health. In fact, the results indicated she was healthier than her peers."

She added, "I understand that cerebral blood vessels bursting in a healthy person in their 20s without hypertension is extremely rare unless under severe shock, so I cannot accept the conclusion that it was simply due to a vascular abnormality. The hospital said my sister has a cerebral vascular malformation, but this can only be known by brain MRI or CT scans. How would an ordinary healthy person think to get such scans?" she questioned.
