[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Teenage brothers in Daegu who brutally stabbed their 70s grandmother, who raised them, to death with a weapon have been arrested and indicted.
The Daegu District Prosecutors' Office Western Branch's Women and Violent Crimes Division announced on the 23rd that they indicted A (18) for the charge of killing a family member after conspiring with his brother to stab their grandmother over 70 times with a weapon, and indicted his younger brother B (16) for aiding and abetting the killing of a family member.
According to the prosecution, A was urgently arrested at the scene on August 30 at 12:10 a.m. at his home in Bisan-dong, Seo-gu, Daegu, on suspicion of stabbing his 77-year-old grandmother dozens of times with a weapon, causing her death.
The grandmother, who was stabbed by her grandson wielding the weapon, was transported to the hospital but eventually died due to severe injuries all over her body, including her head and face.
It was revealed that A committed this unfilial crime because he considered his grandmother, who took care of his neurological and psychiatric medication, to be nagging and interfering.
During the prosecution's investigation, it was found that A searched for methods of committing the crime on a portal site before the incident and conspired with his younger brother to kill their grandmother.
B did not directly participate in the crime but is suspected of assisting by closing windows to prevent the grandmother's screams from being heard outside while his brother was committing the crime.
It is known that the brothers have been living with their grandparents for about nine years after their parents separated and ran away from home.
