[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Buk-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (District Mayor Moon In) will operate the 'Visiting Children's Environmental Classroom' for about 500 students from four elementary schools including Munheung, Taebong, Munhwa, and Ilgok Elementary Schools from the 27th of this month to the 19th of next month.
This education, conducted together with the Gwangju Sustainable Development Council and the Gwangju Environmental Movement Federation, was prepared to inform children about the importance of the environment, such as microplastics and resource circulation of disposable products.
The education combines theoretical lessons and experiential activities, consisting of programs such as ▲Plastic is not Whale Food ▲Dry the Trash Can ▲Scrub Scrub, I Ate Well ▲The Red Scrubber I Made.
Moon In, Mayor of Buk-gu, said, “I hope the Children's Environmental Classroom will awaken the preciousness of the environment and serve as an opportunity to practice environmental conservation in daily life,” adding, “We will continue to discover and promote various policies to protect the climate environment.”
Meanwhile, Buk-gu is promoting projects such as 'Mudeungsan Pyeongchon Premium Village Experiential Environmental Education' and 'Preschool Dream Garden Forest Play Classroom' to foster a culture of environmental protection practice.
