[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Jinju City, Gyeongnam Province, is strengthening its support services for people with severe disabilities who face difficulties in daily life and social activities amid the prolonged COVID-19 crisis.

The city has expanded special care hours by up to 40 hours per month in addition to the existing service hours based on disability grades to ensure that no disabled person is left in blind spots due to lack of time during prolonged crises such as COVID-19.

The Disability Activity Support Project dispatches activity assistants from disability activity service providers to disabled individuals who have received activity support grades (grades 1 to 15) based on their grade assessment results.

Activity assistants provide various services such as meal assistance, cleaning, outing support, household chores, and personal hygiene management for home-based disabled individuals, reducing the burden on their families and offering personalized services for those who find daily life difficult alone.

About 800 activity assistants from five disability activity support service providers, including the Jinju Salivary Gland Center, provide various services such as physical, household, and social activity support to approximately 2,000 disabled individuals.
