Hong Jun-pyo mocks Lee Jae-myung as "Yoon Sip-won" but may become "Lee Il-won"

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Soyoung] The campaign team of Lee Jae-myung, the Democratic Party presidential candidate and Governor of Gyeonggi Province, criticized Hong Joon-pyo, the opposition People Power Party presidential candidate, who has been continuously criticizing Lee over the 'Daejang-dong development preferential treatment allegations,' by calling him "Yeonsanhong" instead of "Muyahong."
Kim Young-jin, the head of Lee's presidential campaign situation room, said at the weekly open camp briefing on the morning of the 22nd, "It is not appropriate to make unilateral criticisms and attacks based on one's own frame without clear evidence against candidate Lee Jae-myung," adding, "There seems to be a person in Joseon who is most like Representative Hong. That person is Yeonsangun."
He continued, "From this week, wouldn't it be more fitting to call him 'Yeonsanhong'?" and sarcastically added, "Yeonsan was the starting point of the downfall in mid-Joseon. The person who reminds me of Yeonsan is candidate Hong Joon-pyo."
In response, former People Power Party lawmaker Lee Eon-ju wrote on her Facebook, "But honestly, when you think of Yeonsangun, he is famous for shameless womanizing and a scandalous behavior that disregards parents and siblings," and "In that sense, isn't Governor Lee closer to Yeonsangun than Representative Hong?"
She also said, "It seems Lee's side lost objectivity due to excitement over the 'Daejang-dong gate.' They used a wrong analogy," adding, "They say people see the speck in others' eyes but not the beam in their own. At this rate, it might become 'Yeonsan Jaemyung.'"
Earlier, on the 20th, Representative Hong criticized Lee on his Facebook, saying, "Some people boast that they never caused even a 10-won loss but ended up in prison, while others stretch out their feet claiming they never took even 1 won," and mocked him as 'Yun Sipwon' (Ten Won Yoon), warning, "He might become 'Lee Ilwon' (One Won Lee) if he’s not careful."
On the 22nd, he also warned, "Seeing the flood of disclosures from Seongnam city officials, I don't think Governor Lee Jae-myung will last long," and said, "If the opposition submits a special prosecutor law, the Democratic Party should accept it for the sake of the next presidential election. Otherwise, the next presidential election will be the Daejang-dong corruption election."
