[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-seon] Nongshim announced on the 23rd that it has released a limited edition Anseongtangmyeon product ahead of Hangul Day on October 9. This limited edition features the brand name 'Anseongtangmyeon (安城湯麵)' written in Hangul instead of Chinese characters, and it will be sold until Hangul Day.
Notably, this product applies handwritten calligraphy by singer Jang Kiha, who is well known for writing songs only in Hangul and having a strong interest in beautifully expressing Hangul. It is said that Jang Kiha willingly participated in this project due to his deep affection for Anseongtangmyeon, which he mentioned as his favorite ramen in his prose collection.
To commemorate the release of the Anseongtangmyeon limited edition, Nongshim is holding a consumer event. Nongshim uploaded an image of the Anseongtangmyeon product with the logo area left blank on its official website, allowing consumers to decorate it by writing 'Anseongtangmyeon' in Hangul themselves. Participants can join the event by uploading their Hangul-written Anseongtangmyeon images on their personal SNS with the required hashtags. Nongshim will give away various prizes, including clothing printed with Anseongtangmyeon in Hangul and Nongshim lucky boxes, through a lottery.
