[Asia Economy Reporter Seulgina Jo] SK Telecom announced on the 23rd that two of its products and services, the ICT complex cultural experience space ‘T Factory’ and the official online shop ‘T Direct Shop,’ have been honored with awards at the prestigious global ‘IDEA Design Awards.’
Organized by the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA), the IDEA Awards have been held since 1980 and are considered one of the world’s top three design awards alongside Red Dot and iF Design Awards. The awards select the best designs by comprehensively evaluating various criteria such as design innovation, user convenience, and social responsibility.
The ‘T Factory’ brand identity (BI), which won this time, expresses anticipation for the future unfolding based on new ICT through a design shaped like an opening door. It received high praise from the judges for expressing the brand value of an ICT multiplex that is not just a store selling simple products but a new concept where future technology and culture can be experienced.
In the case of ‘T Direct Shop,’ following its win at the ‘2021 Red Dot Design Awards,’ it also received honors at the ‘IDEA Awards.’ SK Telecom stated that the design combining a bold logotype with an arrow received high marks for providing an intuitive and consistent brand experience throughout the customer purchase journey, including mobile phone purchase, service activation, and delivery.
Ye Hee-gang, head of SK Telecom’s Creative Comm Group, said, “Through consecutive wins at globally prestigious design awards such as IDEA and Red Dot, our brand value has been recognized worldwide,” adding, “We will continue to strive to communicate with consumers through designs that embody SK Telecom’s unique philosophy.”
