[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Eunbyeol] The Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO) expressed gratitude to BTS for mentioning the importance of COVID-19 vaccination at the United Nations (UN) General Assembly.

On the 21st (local time), WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus mentioned the names of the seven BTS members on Twitter, writing, "Getting vaccinated when it's your turn is truly the right choice." He added, "Thank you for raising your voices to encourage others to get vaccinated and for playing a role in helping to end this pandemic."

He also expressed appreciation for BTS urging people to wear masks to prevent the spread of COVID-19 ahead of last year's Chuseok holiday.

The day before, BTS attended the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Moment event held at the UN General Assembly in the United States as "Special Presidential Envoys for Future Generations and Culture," stating, "All seven of us have been vaccinated." They emphasized, "Vaccination is like a ticket we must have to meet our waiting fans and to be here. We are doing what we can do now."
