Creating Gyeongnam Where Youth Want to Live... '1st Gyeongnam Youth Week' Opens on the 29th 'The 1st Gyeongnam Youth Week' Poster

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Ju Cheol-in] Gyeongsangnam-do announced on the 22nd that it will hold the '2021 Gyeongnam Youth Week' event from the 29th of this month to the 3rd of next month at locations such as the Gyeongnam Provincial Office, the Provincial Council, and Changwon Seongsan Art Hall in celebration of Youth Day.

The Gyeongnam Youth Week, held for the first time this year, aims to create a Gyeongnam where young people want to live by providing opportunities for social participation and exchange to youth to strengthen bonds, and supporting their growth so that they can overcome realistic problems and take a step forward into society.

Considering the COVID-19 situation, this event will be conducted online through a dedicated event website (Gyeongnam Youth Week), YouTube (Youth Special Province Freshman TV), and Zoom. The event includes the Youth Week opening ceremony and talk concert, youth exchange meeting, youth council, Gyeongnam youth public forum, youth performances, youth artwork exhibition, goods sales and youth organization promotion, and experiential programs.

The Youth Week opening ceremony and talk concert will be held on the 2nd of next month at 2 p.m. in the multipurpose space of the Gyeongnam Provincial Office. Along with the Youth Week opening declaration and viewing of the Youth Week promotional video, an online talk concert on the theme of 'Youth Special Province Gyeongnam Desired by Youth' will take place. About 100 youths from the province will be divided into 10 teams to freely discuss cooperation plans between the province and cities/counties at the youth exchange meeting, followed by the youth council where the youth policy network proposes youth policies to Gyeongsangnam-do and receives responses.

The Gyeongnam youth public forum will be held on the 3rd of next month at 11 a.m. in the large conference room of the Gyeongnam Provincial Office. Over 100 local youths from across the country will participate in forums, filibusters, and presentations of table discussion results. From the 2nd for two days, youth busking performances showcasing the dreams and talents of Gyeongnam youth artists will be held at eight locations within the province. The youth artwork exhibition titled 'I Said I Am Gyeongnam Youth' will be held from the 29th of this month to the 3rd of next month in Exhibition Room 4 of Changwon Seongsan Art Hall.

Additionally, there will be youth goods sales and promotion corners for local youth organizations. Various youth experiential programs such as tarot reading, gardening, cookie house making, learning soccer skills, and home training will also continue.

Kim Sang-won, head of the Gyeongnam Youth Policy Promotion Team, said, "As this is the first Youth Week held this year, we made efforts to ensure it is a beneficial program where Gyeongnam youth can take the lead, participate, and enjoy," adding, "We hope many youths will expand their exchange and activity areas and have an opportunity to grow further."
