Shin Hak-cheol, Pursuing Talent Acquisition in the US: "The Most Dynamic Change Since Founding, Let's Join Together" Shin Hak-cheol, Vice Chairman of LG Chem, is delivering a greeting at the BC Tour talent recruitment event held recently at a hotel in New Jersey, USA.

[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Dae-yeol] Shin Hak-cheol, Vice Chairman of LG Chem, recently personally hosted a recruitment event in the United States, the company announced on the 22nd.

At the BC Tour held last weekend at the Tineck Marriott Hotel in New Jersey, he said, "LG Chem is one of the world's top 7 chemical companies and the only one among the global top 10 companies to have increased both sales and operating profit last year compared to 2019," adding, "Despite the historic turning point of the pandemic, the unprecedented upward momentum was created because top talents like you gathered to prepare for the future."

The BC Tour is a global talent acquisition activity conducted directly by key executives and is held in conjunction with the CEO's overseas business trips. Vice Chairman Shin previously held it in Frankfurt, Germany, in 2019, his first year in office. This time, the U.S. BC Tour was attended by Chief Technology Officer Yoo Ji-young and Chief Human Resources Officer Kim Sung-min, among others. According to the company, about 40 master's, doctoral, and undergraduate students from over 10 major universities and research institutes, including the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Georgia Institute of Technology, and Cornell University, were invited. Most attendees majored in fields related to LG Chem's new growth engines such as eco-friendly and bio materials, battery materials, and new drug development.

Vice Chairman Shin said, "We are not complacent with current achievements and are driving the most dynamic and innovative changes since the company's founding to create a better future for us and the planet," adding, "We will make this a workplace where free and creative talents can challenge themselves to the fullest and share their achievements together."
