[Asia Economy Reporter Buaeri] On Chuseok day, the 21st, COVID-19 confirmed cases continued to occur across the country.
According to the quarantine authorities, Seoul city, and other local governments, from midnight to 6 p.m. on that day, the total number of new confirmed COVID-19 cases nationwide was 1,093.
This is 124 fewer than the 1,217 cases recorded at the same time the previous day.
It appears that the number of confirmed cases decreased somewhat due to a reduction in testing during the Chuseok holiday.
Looking at confirmed cases by region, the metropolitan area accounted for 772 cases (70.6%), and non-metropolitan areas accounted for 321 cases (29.4%).
By city and province, Seoul had 511 cases, Incheon 138, Gyeonggi 123, Chungnam 53, Busan 38, Daegu 37, Gwangju 31, Gyeongnam 29, Gyeongbuk 28, Chungbuk and Gangwon 25 each, Jeonbuk 17, Jeonnam 15, Daejeon 13, Jeju 5, Ulsan 4, and Sejong 1.
In the case of Gyeonggi, the number of confirmed cases is expected to be much higher than this figure as cases increased after the interim tally.
Since there is still time until midnight when the tally closes, the number of new confirmed cases announced at midnight on the 22nd is estimated to increase further to between 1,400 and 1,600.
