[Asia Economy Reporter Buaeri] COVID-19 cluster infections continue in hospitals, construction sites, and workplaces mainly in the Seoul metropolitan area.
According to the Central Disease Control Headquarters (CDCH) on the 21st, in the metropolitan area, 11 patients and workers at a hospital in Jung-gu, Seoul tested positive since the 15th. At a university hospital in Bucheon-si, Gyeonggi Province, 11 patients, caregivers, and family members tested positive since the 18th.
At a construction site in Seo-gu, Incheon, 12 people tested positive since the 17th. At a construction site in Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi Province, a total of 12 people tested positive since the 18th, including 10 construction workers and 2 karaoke room workers.
Regarding a karaoke room in Michuhol-gu, Incheon, 26 people including workers, users, family, and acquaintances were infected since the 11th.
In a textile processing and meat processing case in Pocheon-si, Gyeonggi Province, 24 confirmed cases have occurred since the 10th. Among them, 13 are related to the textile processing company and 11 to the meat processing manufacturing company.
Outside the metropolitan area, in a manufacturing case in Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju, a total of 20 workers tested positive since the 19th.
The cluster infection cases at Jungbu Market in Jung-gu, Seoul increased by 66 in one day, bringing the cumulative total to 127. Among them, 107 are workers, 13 family members, 4 visitors, 2 acquaintances, and 1 other contact.
Confirmed cases related to Garak Agricultural and Marine Products Wholesale Market in Songpa-gu, Seoul increased by 28, totaling 369. Among the confirmed cases, 319 are market workers, 39 family members, 6 acquaintances, 4 visitors, and 1 other.
Meanwhile, the proportion of confirmed cases who do not know when or where they were infected was found to be 37.2%.
From the 8th to the 21st of this month, 25,893 new confirmed cases were reported to the health authorities over the past two weeks. Among them, 9,642 (37.2%) have an unknown infection route.
