The Central Disease Control Headquarters announced that as of midnight on this day, the number of new COVID-19 cases increased by 1,729, bringing the cumulative total to 289,263. The death toll rose by 4 to 2,413.

Regarding the infection routes of the new cases, 1,697 were locally transmitted and 32 were imported. By region, Seoul recorded 673 cases, Gyeonggi 499, and Incheon 130. This was followed by Daegu (46), Busan and Chungnam (44), Daejeon (43), Gwangju and Gangwon (39), Jeonbuk (31), Gyeongbuk (27), Gyeongnam (26), Chungbuk (23), Ulsan (15), Jeonnam and Jeju (7), and Sejong (4).
