[Asia Economy Reporter Hyungsoo Park] Even on the 20th, a day before Chuseok, new COVID-19 cases were reported across the country.

According to the quarantine authorities, Seoul city, and other local governments, from midnight to 9 p.m. on the 20th, a total of 1,531 new confirmed COVID-19 cases were recorded nationwide.

Since there is still time until midnight when the tally closes, the number of new confirmed cases announced as of 0:00 on the 21st is expected to increase further to around 1,600. If it reaches around 1,600, it could set a record for the highest number of Monday cases. The previous record was 1,597 cases recorded on the 6th.
