[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] Samsung Electronics' budget smartphone ‘Galaxy M52 5G’ is expected to be unveiled within this month.
On the 20th (local time), IT specialist media SamMobile reported, citing Amazon's phone teaser page, that the Galaxy M52 will be revealed on the 28th.
SamMobile initially expected the M52 to be launched starting from the 19th in India, but it appears the release has been delayed by about ten days. The M52, which is anticipated to have overall similar specs to the recently released ‘Galaxy A52s’ this month, is likely to be a more affordable option compared to the A52s.
The M52’s application processor (AP) is expected to be Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 778G, paired with 6GB or 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The Snapdragon 778G is an advanced processor built using TSMC’s 6-nanometer (nm) process technology. It offers a triple image signal processor (ISP) that enables simultaneous shooting of three photos or videos using wide-angle, ultra-wide-angle, and zoom lenses.
The display will feature a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED Infinity-O display supporting 120 Hertz (Hz). The camera setup includes a 32-megapixel front selfie camera and a triple rear camera system consisting of a 64-megapixel main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera, and a 5-megapixel macro camera.
However, the battery capacity is expected to be 5000 milliampere-hours (mAh), which is less than initially anticipated, and it will likely support 25-watt (W) fast charging. The predecessor, ‘Galaxy M51,’ released in August last year, was notable for its large 7000mAh battery.
Additionally, the M52 is expected to be available in three colors: Black, Blue, and White, and will include GPS, dual SIM card slots, 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, a USB Type-C port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
