Card companies are presenting various events to celebrate the Chuseok holiday. Due to the impact of COVID-19, travel-related benefits have decreased, while benefits are concentrated on online shopping, including large marts and department stores.
A representative event is the discount on Chuseok gift sets. Shinhan Card offers a 5% gift certificate (in tiers of 200,000; 400,000; 600,000; 1,000,000 KRW) for card payments at Shinsegae Department Store until the 20th. Lotte Mart offers up to a 30% discount or gift certificates up to 500,000 KRW depending on the purchase amount for payments made until the 21st. Emart also provides up to 500,000 KRW discount benefits based on purchase amounts for fresh, processed, and daily life-related gift sets purchased until the 21st.
Samsung Card offers up to 500,000 KRW in Shinsegae gift certificates or discounts depending on the payment amount when purchasing Chuseok gift sets at nationwide Emart and Emart Traders until the 21st. Homeplus also allows customers to choose between up to 500,000 KRW Homeplus gift certificates or on-site discounts based on payment amounts when purchasing Chuseok gift sets with Samsung Card until the 22nd.
KB Kookmin Card provides up to a 40% discount or gift certificates up to 500,000 KRW depending on purchase amount tiers to customers buying event-targeted gift sets at Emart until the 21st. Lotte Mart offers up to a 30% discount or gift certificates up to 500,000 KRW depending on purchase amount tiers for event-targeted gift set buyers until the 21st.
Lotte Card offers up to a 30% discount when purchasing Chuseok gift set event products at Lotte Mart and VIC Market until the 21st. Additionally, customers who pay 100,000; 200,000; 300,000; or 500,000 KRW or more for these products receive gift certificates worth 5,000; 10,000; 15,000; or 25,000 KRW respectively. For payments over 1,000,000 KRW, gift certificates worth 50,000 KRW per 1,000,000 KRW spent are given, up to a maximum of 500,000 KRW.
There are also cards that offer benefits when purchasing home appliances for Chuseok. Hyundai Card provides cashback of up to 300,000 KRW based on purchase amounts when buying appliances at LG Electronics or Electronic Land until the 30th. Especially, when paying with Hyundai Card for LG Electronics Brand Week event products inside Costco stores, customers can receive up to 350,000 KRW in discounts. Lotte Card offers a 10% discount (up to 100,000 KRW) when purchasing large home appliances worth 50,000 KRW or more on Gmarket.
Hana Card offers discounts at online fashion shopping malls for those preparing Chuseok outfits. A 5,000 KRW discount is provided for payments over 70,000 KRW on Zigzag, and a 3,000 KRW discount is given when paying 50,000 KRW or more with Hana Card Musinsa Pay on Musinsa.
Woori Card has prepared a cashback event for Chuseok. Until the 24th, among customers who cumulatively spend over 100,000 KRW with Woori Card at markets, discount marts, home shopping, department stores, and online shopping malls, 1,717 winners will be drawn to receive up to 300,000 KRW cashback.
