Jang Je-won's Son Arrested in Flagrante Delicto for 'Unlicensed Driving and Assaulting Police'

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Ji-hwan] It has been confirmed that Jang Yong-jun (21, stage name Noel), the son of People Power Party lawmaker Jang Je-won, has been booked on charges of assaulting a police officer who requested a breathalyzer test after he was caught driving without a license.

According to the police on the 19th, Jang was driving a Mercedes-Benz in Banpo-dong, Seocho-gu, Seoul, at around 10:30 p.m. the previous day when he caused a minor collision with another vehicle.

The police officers who arrived at the scene suspected Jang of drinking and requested a breathalyzer test and identification, but Jang refused and reportedly headbutted one of the officers.

The police initially arrested Jang at the scene on charges including refusal to take a breathalyzer test, conducted a brief investigation, and then released him to go home. It is known that the driver of the other vehicle involved in the collision was not injured.

In April, Jang was also sent for prosecution on charges of assaulting a pedestrian on a street in Busanjin-gu, Busan, which sparked controversy. Last year, he was indicted on charges including drunk driving and 'driver substitution' and was given a suspended sentence in the first trial.
