‘3D Landscape Review’ Ulsan Leads … Advanced Technology ‘Buildit’ Selected for Pilot Operation by Local Government

Support for Excellent Technologies Selected by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, Establishing Objective and Scientific Landscape Review

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Ulsan City is taking the lead among local governments nationwide in promoting scientific landscape review using 3D technology.

Ulsan City has been selected as a local government for the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport’s supported ‘3D Landscape Review Excellent Technology Pilot Operation’ and will receive support for the ‘3D Spatial Information Platform Technology.’

The supported technology is the 3D landscape review system ‘Buildit,’ which was awarded the grand prize in the 2020 Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport’s ‘3D Landscape Review Technology Contest.’

Through government support, the discovery and dissemination of scientific and objective landscape review technologies for 3D landscape management will be accelerated.

The support targets two local governments, including Ulsan City.

Buildit supports scientific and objective landscape reviews by providing 3D simulations of internal and external views, skyline, building coverage ratio, floor area ratio, distance between buildings, sunlight, and daylight for apartment complexes during landscape review committee meetings, instead of traditional 2D drawings.

Ulsan City plans to pilot the use of ‘Buildit’ during future landscape review committee meetings to verify the efficiency and necessity of 3D landscape reviews.

Additionally, the city will strengthen urban landscape administration by addressing areas for improvement.
