[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-ju] The Korea Road Traffic Authority (Chairman Lee Jumin) and Shinhan Financial Group (Chairman Cho Yong-byeong) signed a "Business Agreement for the Prevention of Voice Phishing and the Establishment of an Advanced Traffic Culture" on the 17th at the Shinhan Financial Group headquarters.


Through this agreement, both organizations agreed to cooperate in public campaigns to eradicate telephone financial fraud and prevent traffic accidents. The Korea Road Traffic Authority will broadcast a voice phishing prevention campaign through TBN Korea Traffic Broadcasting and organize a weekly segment to deliver real cases of voice phishing damage and arrests to listeners nationwide. Additionally, promotional videos to eradicate telephone financial fraud will be aired at branches and driver’s license examination centers nationwide, along with posters being displayed.


Furthermore, Shinhan Financial Group will promote traffic safety through Shinhan Bank branches and ATMs nationwide, as well as through Shinhan Card’s ‘Shinhan My Car’ platform, and plans to launch campaigns to reduce traffic accidents through various methods in the future.


Lee Jumin, Chairman of the Korea Road Traffic Authority, stated, "Telephone financial fraud and traffic accidents must be eradicated to protect the lives and property of the people," adding, "We expect to create a synergistic effect through cooperation between the two organizations and will do our best to establish a safe environment free from voice phishing and traffic accidents."
