Amid NC Crisis Rumors, Kim Taek-jin Says "Heavy Responsibility... Will Create an Evolved Image" Kim Taek-jin, CEO of NCSoft

[Asia Economy Reporter Bu Aeri] Kim Taek-jin, CEO of NCSoft, recently addressed various controversies surrounding the company, stating on the 17th that he would "coolly reassess" the situation.

NCSoft has recently faced crisis rumors as its stock price fell following controversies over the probability-based items in its flagship game Lineage and the poor performance of the new title 'Blade & Soul 2.'

On the 17th, CEO Kim sent an email to employees saying, "Criticism is pouring in not only about our games but also about NCSoft," and added, "There are also comments that NCSoft is in crisis."

He continued, "I have been continuously reviewing and listening to the concerns and suggestions from our employees regarding this situation," and said, "As CEO, I feel a heavy responsibility for the current situation NCSoft is facing."

CEO Kim stated, "I will listen with empathy not only to the voices criticizing NCSoft but also to those unheard," and added, "We will promote our changes and create an evolved version of ourselves."

He further emphasized, "It is also my duty to use this incident as a whip to build a more grown NCSoft," and said, "The success formulas of the past are already history. I will question the methods and processes that have been taken for granted until now."

He said, "NCSoft is at a time when change is necessary," and added, "We will accurately identify the problems and devise alternatives."

CEO Kim said, "For challenges and changes, even if it feels unfamiliar and uncomfortable at first, we will change what needs to be changed," and added, "We will devote all efforts to transform into the image our customers expect."

CEO Kim repeatedly emphasized his will for 'change.' He said, "Over the past 24 years, NCSoft has not ended crises but has made greater leaps," and urged, "Please reflect on NCSoft and offer suggestions for the NCSoft that will change."
