Yeongsangang Regional Environmental Office, Sharing Love with Neighbors for Chuseok Celebration

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jin-Hyung Park] The Yeongsan River Basin Environmental Office (Director Ryu Yeon-gi) visited the residential facility for the disabled, ‘Gwangju Yeonggwangwon,’ located in Gwangju Metropolitan City on the 16th to practice neighborly love sharing in celebration of the Chuseok holiday.


‘Gwangju Yeonggwangwon’ was established in July 1954 and is a facility that supports visually impaired individuals to live daily lives as members of society through education and rehabilitation training.


The Yeongsan River Basin Environmental Office takes the lead in contributing to the local community and spreading a culture of sharing through annual holiday volunteer activities involving its employees,


This Chuseok, to prevent the spread of COVID-19, they minimized face-to-face activities and had a meaningful time of sharing by delivering daily necessities such as toilet paper and detergent needed by the facility.


Ryu Yeon-gi, Director of the Yeongsan River Basin Environmental Office, stated, “It is very regrettable that we can only provide support within a limited scope due to COVID-19, but I hope this will be of some help to neighbors in need, and through the practice of sharing, I expect the small value of sharing with marginalized neighbors to expand further.”
