Shinhan Card Launches Untact Car Maintenance Platform 'Alcago'

[Asia Economy Reporter Ki Ha-young] Shinhan Card announced on the 17th that it has launched 'Alkago,' a differentiated car maintenance brokerage platform that allows vehicle maintenance any day of the week.

Alkago was developed under the leadership of Shinhan Card's in-house venture team, with the meaning of "We will fix your car (Car) for you." First, when customers book and pay for vehicle maintenance services through Alkago, the maintenance company visits the customer's location to pick up the vehicle. If an office worker leaves their car before going to work, they can use the shuttle bus service provided by Alkago to get to their workplace. Once maintenance is completed, the vehicle is delivered to the designated location at the customer's preferred time via a delivery service.

The shuttle bus service operates for office workers in the Yeouido area and the districts of Gangnam-gu, Seocho-gu, Songpa-gu, Jung-gu, and Jongno-gu in Seoul. The delivery service will be available in the Seoul area until the end of this year and is planned to expand to the metropolitan area and major cities starting next year.

In addition to basic maintenance, customers can choose additional services such as fog sterilization and car washing, which take more time, as well as extra repairs. The entire maintenance process is shared via a timeline, providing customers with information as if they were on-site. The timeline displays the start and end of maintenance, maintenance photos, inspection comments, maintenance reports, and estimates for additional repairs in chronological order. In particular, the maintenance report inspects the vehicle's condition and informs customers in advance of parts that need replacement and the associated costs, giving them sufficient time to make decisions while preventing excessive maintenance in advance.

Alkago's maintenance service is carried out by 'Masta Automobile Management,' which operates a nationwide network of 1,400 vehicle maintenance centers. In April, Alkago and Masta Automobile Management signed a business agreement to standardize the quality of vehicle maintenance services, parts pricing, and labor costs to provide standardized vehicle maintenance services.

A Shinhan Card official said, "Alkago embodies convenience, safety, and innovation in line with Shinhan Financial Group's newly declared group vision for its 20th anniversary, 'Easier, More Comfortable, and Newer Finance.' We will continue to expand services that satisfy customers more and complete a total car life platform alongside Shinhan My Car, Shinhan Financial Group's representative auto finance platform."
