Kolon FnC Boldist Launches 'Mikenik Line'

Kolon FnC Boldist Launches 'Mikenik Line'

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-sun] Kolon Industries FnC Division (hereinafter Kolon FnC) is expanding its workwear category in earnest by launching the "Mechanic Line" for the fall/winter season under its workwear brand "Boldist."

"Mechanic" refers to a person who repairs vehicles, bicycles, motorcycles, and the like. While Boldist has previously introduced workwear for carpenters, woodworking professionals, and construction workers, this season it is expanding its scope to include mechanics. Rather than offering generic workwear, the brand aims to propose clothing with specialized functions tailored to each field, creating garments that are practically needed on site.

The Mechanic Line specializes in "oil-repellent processing," "scratch resistance," and "outdoor weather functionality."

Mechanics are frequently exposed to oil substances, as they handle machines powered by petroleum and lubricants for metal parts. The Mechanic Line minimizes staining by adding Teflon oil-repellent treated materials to areas most prone to oil contamination during work. Additionally, to prevent scratches on machinery caused by zippers or metal hardware, cover designs have been applied. While some work is done indoors, for workers operating in outdoor open sites, the line uses 3L (layer) softshell materials with windproof, waterproof, and cold-resistant functions. Despite offering various functionalities, the materials are lightweight, facilitating smooth work.

The Mechanic Line consists of seven items: jackets, vests, t-shirts, coveralls, pants, and belts. It incorporates all three of the above functions and also features Boldist’s greatest advantage and an essential on-site feature?the E.D.C (Every Day Carry) pocket system?enhancing storage capacity.

Boldist also collaborates with real workers for its visual models. This Mechanic Line was developed in partnership with Jeon Hyung-jun, CEO of "Jun Garage," an automobile repair shop based in Gwangju, adding meaningful authenticity.
