Seoul City, Approval of Youth Housing Near Station Areas by the Subcommittee on Authority at the Provincial Construction Committee

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyemin] Two youth housing complexes will be built near Janghanpyeong Station on Subway Line 5. A total of 297 households are expected to be supplied through this project.
On the 16th, the Seoul Metropolitan Government held the 7th Urban and Architectural Joint Committee's Station Area Youth Housing Subcommittee and conditionally approved two amendments to the station area youth housing district unit plans, the city announced on the 17th.
Accordingly, a total of 172 households will be built at 230-4 Yongdap-dong, Seongdong-gu (site area 925.4㎡), and 125 households at 418-1 Jang-an-dong, Dongdaemun-gu (923.9㎡).
Station area youth housing is public-supported private rental housing supplied to young people aged 19 to 39. Rental housing is provided at prices lower than the surrounding market, and various youth-related convenience facilities will also be established.
A Seoul city official stated, "With the approval of this subcommittee review, once the district unit plan is officially decided and announced, the youth housing project at the site will become possible," adding, "The relevant district office will proceed with the building permit procedures in the future."
