[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] Gangwon Province will operate an 'emergency medical system' during the Chuseok holiday period and will operate COVID-19 screening clinics normally.

According to the emergency medical system for the Chuseok holiday announced by the province on the 16th, emergency medical services will be provided at 842 health institutions and hospitals/clinics, and 1,097 pharmacies, while 25 emergency medical institutions and medical facilities in the province will operate emergency rooms 24 hours a day.

To respond immediately to casualties and to provide consultation for residents' medical inconveniences and complaints, an emergency medical situation room composed of 19 teams (146 people) will be established and operated at the provincial and city/county health centers.

In case of a disaster, rapid response teams from health centers or disaster medical support teams from disaster base hospitals (3 locations) will be dispatched to provide on-site emergency medical support.

Additionally, to ensure no gaps in COVID-19 diagnostic testing, screening clinics will be operated at health centers and emergency medical institutions during the holiday period.

Information on hospitals, clinics, pharmacies, and screening clinics open during the Chuseok holiday can be found through each institution's website and smartphone applications.
