How Did You Know I Like Sweet Things...!
Cafe Noted, renowned as a holy place for cream donut lovers, is a prestigious brand of cream donuts. Noted is still only available in Seoul and Jeju, making it a place of curiosity for those living in other regions. Recently, Noted collaborated with GS Retail to launch unique collaboration products. Following the release of three types of Noted milk, news has come that two types of Noted jelly products have also been launched. The editor, who found it hard to wait for the jelly to arrive at a nearby convenience store, quickly went to try the milk first and shares the review.
Using the flavor of the steadily popular donuts from Noted Donuts, three types were introduced: Vanilla Milk, Banana Milk, and Raspberry Strawberry Milk. The signature Noted smiley face is the highlight of the packaging!
Drawn by Sweetness! ‘Vanilla Milk’
Since the milk fresh cream donut was the item I most often bought at Noted, I tried the Vanilla Milk first. Thanks to the vanilla extract, the sweet flavor was spot on. Upon tasting it, the editor exclaimed, “It tastes exactly like the milk fresh cream donut!” It also felt quite similar to a vanilla shake. It’s like vanilla shake or soft cone ice cream turned into milk. The sweetness level was just right?not too much, not too little. Having it with the milk fresh cream donut made me feel that it couldn’t get any tastier than this.
A Face-off with Ddungba?! ‘Banana Milk’
Banana Milk tastes very similar to Binggrae’s Banana Can Milk (a.k.a. Ddungba), which I usually enjoy. However, perhaps because the banana-flavored can milk is so familiar to us, Noted’s Banana Milk feels somewhat bland in comparison. It was closer to custard cream milk than banana. Looking at the ingredient list, it contains cream, skimmed milk powder, and custard cake synthetic flavoring, which might explain the taste. Personally, I found it 2% lacking.
Unconventional Sweetness, ‘Raspberry Strawberry Milk’
The editor usually avoids foods that don’t contain real strawberry ingredients due to their artificial taste. For this reason, I was skeptical when trying Raspberry Strawberry Milk. Surprisingly, the raspberry strawberry milk was quite delicious. It tasted like regular strawberry milk with a spoonful of raspberry jam mixed in. It wasn’t overly artificial, which earns +1 point, and the blend of raspberry and strawberry was well balanced, earning another +1 point!
*Each of the three Noted milks is priced at 1,500 won, and GS25 convenience stores are running a 2+1 promotion throughout September.
After tasting all three milks, the editor’s personal preference ranking is Vanilla Milk > Raspberry Strawberry Milk > Banana Milk. All three products reminded me of Noted Donuts’ flavors and were much tastier than expected. While they might feel a bit overly sweet when eaten with actual Noted Donuts, those who usually enjoy sweet snacks or drinks will find these milks quite delicious. These products are available at GS25 convenience stores, GS supermarkets, and Cafe Noted’s Cheongdam branch, so keep that in mind.
