[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] The winner of the "Challenge Online Heo Jun Golden Bell," one of the main programs of the 21st Online Sancheong Herbal Medicine Festival, was decided to be Jo Eun, a second-year student at Daegu Haany University.

Sancheong-gun, Gyeongnam Province, announced on the 16th that the "Challenge Online Heo Jun Golden Bell," held in a four-way live broadcast format to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), was successfully completed with the participation of about 90 Korean medicine university students nationwide.

The Heo Jun Golden Bell has been held as a unit event of the Sancheong Herbal Medicine Festival since 2007 to widely promote Sancheong's anti-aging industry to Korean medicine students across the country.

This competition was mainly held at the Sancheong-gun Culture and Arts Center, with special stages set up at each university such as Daegu Haany University, Daejeon University, and Wonkwang University’s Korean Medicine departments, and conducted in a multi-way live broadcast format.

Professor Park Yong-gi of Dongguk University and announcer Kwon Eun-kyung hosted the event, presenting questions on pharmacognosy and basic Korean medicine, leading to a heated contest.

Especially this year, Han Myeong-hwa, the first grand prize winner, delivered questions via video, sending a message of encouragement to juniors in Korean medicine. Also, Tae Jin-ah, Gangnam, and the twin comedians Sang-ho and Sang-min appeared in videos to present questions, helping to ease the participants' tension.

In this competition, Jo Eun, a second-year student at Daegu Haany University, rang the golden bell and received the honor of the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Award.

Jo Eun expressed a confident aspiration, saying, "I did not expect to be the last one standing. After graduation, I will become an excellent Korean medicine doctor like Heo Jun and contribute to the development of Korean medicine."
