[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jinyoung] Yoon Ho-jung, the floor leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, on the 16th, urged the People Power Party to issue a public apology and expel all related members regarding the allegations of former Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol's involvement in the accusation solicitation scandal.

At the policy coordination meeting held at the National Assembly that morning, Floor Leader Yoon said, "The People Power Party cannot be free from the national disgrace incident involving collusion between prosecutors and the party."

He pointed out, "Yesterday's media reports confirmed that the People Power Party's own investigation found that an accusation letter identical to the one delivered by Assemblyman Kim Woong was received by the People Power Party," adding, "If true, Assemblyman Jeong Jeong-sik submitted the draft accusation letter to the party audit office and is now denying it."

He continued, "The essence of this case is the national disgrace incident involving collusion between prosecutors and the party, and it is clearly revealed that the People Power Party is a co-lead actor with the prosecution," emphasizing, "The People Power Party must issue a public apology and expel all related members."

Regarding former Prosecutor General Yoon, he said, "Yoon's remark that the accusation letter seems too crude to have been written by a prosecutor is just an attempt to deflect responsibility. Is it plausible to consider Prosecutor Son Jun-sung acted alone?" and stressed, "If former Prosecutor General Yoon has any sense of decency toward the public, he should immediately resign and cooperate with the investigation."
