[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bong-su] The appearance of Korea's first independent space launch vehicle, 'Nuriho,' which is set to launch on the 21st of next month, will be revealed in advance.
The National Science Museum in Daejeon announced on the 16th that it will hold the event "The Dream of Space Opened by Our Hands, Nuriho" starting from the 17th to introduce the significance of the Korean launch vehicle (Nuriho) and the difficulties faced during its development, as well as to foster a national atmosphere of support.
The photo exhibition offers a glimpse into the efforts of the researchers during the Nuriho development process, along with an opportunity to see the actual Korean launch vehicle's 75-ton class engine. There will also be a special lecture where attendees can hear vivid stories from the engine developers.
The photo exhibition will be held at the Central Vault of the National Science Museum. It is composed of vivid photos from the actual research sites to let visitors feel the sweat and efforts of the researchers during the Korean launch vehicle development process. The 75-ton class engine of the Korean launch vehicle is a real 2nd stage part (EDM model) used in actual development tests, placed on the west side of the Central Vault, where visitors can take commemorative photos alongside life-sized models of launch vehicles in the Space Science Park.
On the 2nd floor of the Changui Narae Hall, a lecture video featuring Dr. Kim Jin-han from the Korea Aerospace Research Institute, sharing vivid stories about engine development, will be screened. Visitors can directly hear the developer's voice about the meaning and operating principles of Nuriho, as well as various stories from the engine development process. The video is shown once on weekdays (11:30 AM to 12:00 PM) and twice on weekends (11:30 AM to 12:00 PM, 2:30 PM to 3:00 PM). Advance reservation is required (30 people per session).
There will also be an event to create a support tree and an exhibition of the Nuriho fountain, which is a self-developed exhibit. Additionally, the "My Own Nuriho Coloring SNS Event" and a hands-on experience event called "Making Nuriho with a 3D Pen," where participants can create a Nuriho model using a 3D pen, will be held.
Due to the implementation of social distancing level 3 measures, viewing is possible only after advance reservation.
