KT SAT Adds YTN to Live TV on Ships

[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] KT SAT announced on the 16th that it has signed an official service contract with the news channel YTN to enhance the channel lineup of its maritime live broadcasting service.

KT SAT signed a contract to additionally supply the YTN channel to its maritime live broadcasting service and officially launched the service on the 15th. The maritime live broadcasting service, launched by KT SAT in July, is the first domestic maritime satellite communication service that allows real-time TV viewing on ships. Previously, if connected to KT SAT's high-speed maritime satellite communication network, viewers could watch live broadcasts of entertainment, cultural, and current affairs programs on the KBS KOREA channel.

Song Kyung-min, CEO of KT SAT, stated, “We will provide services so that various live broadcasts can be viewed even in global maritime areas,” and added, “By utilizing satellite communication to strengthen connections between sea and land, we will do our best to improve the welfare of seafarers as a member of the national enterprise KT Group.”
