[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Hyunjin] LG Display announced on the 16th that it will hold an organic light-emitting diode (OLED) digital art exhibition in collaboration with the U.S.-based automotive lifestyle and fashion brand 'Peaches.'
The exhibition, called the 'OLED Art Wave' project, will be held for about a month from today until July 14 at Peaches Dowon, a complex cultural space in Seongsu-dong. LG Display installed 39 units of 65-inch OLED panels throughout the venue and will showcase digital artworks completed in collaboration with five promising domestic and international artists: Jacolby Satterwhite, Ram Han, Yoo Shin-ae, Jung Heemin, and Buttercup.
An LG Display official stated, "The exhibited works convey the message that the virtual colors created by each artist are reborn in reality through the perfect image quality of OLED," adding, "In particular, OLED accurately expresses the colors intended by the creators without distortion or exaggeration, earning high praise from participating artists as the optimal digital canvas."
OLED is a display technology where hundreds of thousands to millions of pixels that make up the screen can control their own light to reproduce colors. OLED TV panels have been certified for 'image quality accuracy' by Intertek, a global testing and certification organization based in the UK, for their excellent representation of the original brightness, saturation, and hue.
Kim Kwangjin, Executive Director of LG Display’s TV Sales and Marketing Group, said, "We will actively promote the technological excellence of OLED through the meeting of OLED’s unparalleled image quality and art."
