Donation of 20 Million Won to Gwangju Social Welfare Community Chest
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] IT specialist company DotnetSoft Co., Ltd. donated 20 million KRW in funds for a transportation card support project for care-neighboring youth to the Gwangju Community Chest of Korea.
According to the Gwangju Community Chest of Korea on the 15th, the donated funds will be used to cover one semester's transportation expenses for care-neighboring youth within Gwangju Metropolitan City recommended by the Office of Education.
The transportation card support project, which has been ongoing since 2015, has provided support five times up to this year, distributing a total of 100 million KRW to 500 youths.
The event was attended by DotnetSoft CEO Choi Byungjun, Superintendent of Education Jang Huiguk, and Gwangju Community Chest of Korea Secretary-General Lee Seongdo.
Choi Byungjun, CEO of DotnetSoft, said, "We want to create a happy commuting path for students struggling with transportation costs," and added, "We plan to continue participating in social contribution activities to walk beautifully with neighbors in need."
Meanwhile, DotnetSoft, which is registered as a Good Workplace, is special in that all employees participate in donations. To promote a culture of workplace giving, since June 2019, the company has actively supported all employees to consistently donate a fixed amount of about 20,000 KRW monthly from their salaries. Due to this active promotion of a sharing culture within the workplace, the company was selected as ‘The Best Good Workplace’ in 2021.
The Community Chest of Korea, along with its central office and 17 branches nationwide, carries out distribution projects to solve various community issues. This year, it is conducting distribution projects worth a total of approximately 816.7 billion KRW.
As of the 13th, projects worth about 455.4 billion KRW have been supported, of which the Gwangju Community Chest of Korea has supported distribution projects totaling approximately 8.37 billion KRW.
