[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] The Gangwon-do Health and Environment Research Institute announced on the 15th that all agricultural products collected and tested from direct sales stores (local food) within Gangwon-do were confirmed to be suitable.
From March 10 to July 23, the institute conducted residue pesticide (217 types) and heavy metal (lead, cadmium) tests on 51 samples of 29 items, including ▲major consumer agricultural products (pumpkin, chili peppers, mushrooms, etc.) and ▲spring and summer season safety-vulnerable agricultural products (lettuce, chwinamul, green onions, etc.) distributed in local food stores across 11 cities and counties.
Test results showed that pesticide residues were detected within permissible limits in 15 samples of 10 items such as zucchini, lettuce, chili peppers, spinach, and green onions, and heavy metals also met the standards and regulations.
The Gangwon-do Health and Environment Research Institute plans to continue conducting safety inspections to ensure a safe distribution environment for agricultural products.
