Park Suhyun, Senior Secretary at the Blue House, Says "Considered the Issue of Political Neutrality of the Board of Audit and Inspection"

Explanation of Candidate Choi Jae-ha's Nomination as Board of Audit and Inspection Chief... "Riding a Local Coexistence Car in the President's Hometown Is Another Symbol"

[Asia Economy Reporter Ryu Jeong-min] Park Soo-hyun, the Blue House Chief of Public Communication, revealed on the 15th in an interview with YTN Radio's 'Hwang Bo-seon's Start of a New Morning' that the background of nominating Choi Jae-hae as the candidate for the Board of Audit and Inspection (BAI) chairman was due to concerns about the political neutrality of the BAI.

Chief Park stated, "Since the previous chairman did not complete his term, naturally there could be internal unrest within the organization. Furthermore, the issue of political neutrality was also inevitably raised. The President has been considering a personnel plan that could resolve these two issues simultaneously."

Chief Park added, "The former BAI chairman did not complete his term and stepped down prematurely. Unusually, President Moon Jae-in also sent a message that this set an undesirable precedent. This indicated how crucial the political neutrality and independence of the BAI are," he said.

Chief Park said, "I understand that the BAI was established in 1963. Since its establishment in '63, this is the first time a candidate from within the BAI has been nominated for the chairman position," and added, "By nominating the first candidate from within the BAI since its establishment, the organization can be stabilized, and the political hope for neutrality can also be achieved. You can see this as having such significance."

Meanwhile, regarding President Moon purchasing the light SUV ‘Casper,’ the first vehicle produced through the Gwangju-type job project via online pre-order, Chief Park said, "Personally, I hope that just as former President Roh Moo-hyun became a symbol by riding a bicycle in Bongha Village, the image of the President driving a car?produced as a result of patience, compromise, and negotiation in regional win-win cooperation?after his retirement in his hometown will become another symbol," he expressed his personal hope.
