[Asia Economy Reporter Hyungsoo Park] Entertainment content group BIGOCEAN ENM, which has showcased various content on terrestrial broadcasting, cable, and OTT platforms, announced on the 14th that it recently received an investment of 5 billion KRW from a new technology association.
The new technology association, co-operated by Bros Investment, valued BIGOCEAN ENM at around 60 billion KRW and invested 5 billion KRW. This follows the pre-Series A investment in May involving Bokwang Venture Capital, marking a successful additional investment within four months. This signifies market recognition of BIGOCEAN ENM’s value and future growth potential, especially given its recent diverse content offerings on OTT channels.
BIGOCEAN ENM is an entertainment content group engaged in films, dramas, music, artist management, and PP business (DOG TV).
A BIGOCEAN ENM representative stated, "We will invest to create super IPs optimized not only for domestic platforms but also for global OTT platforms such as Netflix and Disney+," adding, "We also plan to pursue new initiatives including metaverse business utilizing IPs."
BIGOCEAN ENM consists of Supermoon Pictures handling dramas, Gom Pictures managing films, and The Groove Company responsible for singer albums and OSTs. Each specialized company maximizes content production capabilities and has built a business portfolio that creates synergy.
Based on its content production capabilities, BIGOCEAN ENM supplies content to various platforms including domestic and international OTT platforms such as Netflix, Wavve, and TVING, as well as terrestrial broadcasting, cable, IPTV, and theaters. It is expanding into diverse areas such as musicals, metaverse concerts, and artist management businesses utilizing IPs.
BIGOCEAN ENM maintains a stable lineup by consistently releasing various works every year. This year, the film "Pipeline" was released in theaters, followed by the Netflix original film "The 8th Night." It also produced dramas such as "A Goal Has Been Set" and "Check the Event."
BIGOCEAN ENM is actively developing its music business and star management business as well. It participated in producing OSTs for dramas like "Mr. Queen," "Penthouse," and "Fly Dragon." Current affiliated artists include girl group Gracie, Jang Hanbyul, Lee Jaeyoon, Lee Sechang, and Crown J.
