[Asia Economy Reporter Koo Chae-eun] Prime Minister Kim Boo-kyum stated on the 13th regarding the allegations of prosecution's instigation of complaints during the tenure of former Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol, "If true, it is an act of blatant political interference as a public official and a serious criminal act," adding, "Such a thing should never happen within a national organization."


On the same day, during the National Assembly's government-related questioning on political matters, Prime Minister Kim said, "I am cautious even to speak hypothetically," and "If true, it is such a tremendous incident that discipline must be enforced regarding this issue." This response was given in reply to a question from Min Byung-duk, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, who asked, "How should we view it if the prosecution tried to orchestrate complaints against politicians advocating prosecution reform right before the general election?"


Meanwhile, allegations have surfaced that Son Jun-sung, then the Policy Officer for Investigation Information at the Supreme Prosecutors' Office, delivered complaints against 11 individuals?including Kim Woong, a candidate for the Future United Party in Songpa-gap district during last April's general election; Yoo Si-min, chairman of the Roh Moo-hyun Foundation; three candidates for proportional representation from the Open Democratic Party?Choi Kang-wook, Hwang Hee-seok, and another; seven media personnel; and unidentified persons?causing a stir.
