[Asia Economy Reporter Dongwoo Lee] CJ Logistics announced on the 13th that it has received the ISO37301 certification for the 'Compliance Management System' from Lloyd's Register, a global certification body, becoming the first domestic logistics company to achieve this.
ISO37301 is a compliance-related management system established by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) in April this year. It is a representative international standard aimed at achieving corporate compliance management, organizational governance, and ethical management.
Compliance refers to activities that prevent potential risks in advance and minimize possible losses by adhering to laws and corporate ethics, thereby protecting the company and its employees.
CJ Logistics established a dedicated compliance team in 2016 and expanded and reorganized the compliance organization into the Legal & Compliance Office in 2019. Since then, the company has continuously worked to establish and stably operate the compliance system by holding annual compliance management committees and conducting regular training and inspections.
In the recent ISO37301 certification, CJ Logistics received favorable evaluations for its company-wide identification and response to legal and regulatory risks, as well as topic-specific compliance training for employees.
Jang Yoon-seok, Head of Legal & Compliance Office (Vice President) at CJ Logistics, stated, “Compliance management is the foundation for the company’s sustainable growth, a means for transparent management activities, and a tool to meet the high-level compliance required by multinational corporations in the global business environment. Through this certification, we will further strengthen compliance management as part of ESG management and fulfill our corporate social responsibility.”
